Birmingham Promise Internship Application

Thank you for your interest in applying for The Birmingham Promise Internship Program. This program aims to help you develop high-demand skills through a paid internship in one of Birmingham's many hot industries including, but not limited to, Finance and Insurance, Healthcare and Life Sciences, Energy and Engineering and Digital Technology.
During the length of the internship, Birmingham Promise Interns are compensated at a rate of $15/hour. If you are interested in participating, please complete the following application. The application process must be completed in one session and should not take more than 20-30 minutes. In order to complete the form, you will need to have the following information readily available:
  • Your 10-digit Birmingham City Schools Student ID Number
  • The name, e-mail, address, and phone number of a parent or legal guardian.
  • An idea for whether you would like to start your internship in the Fall (September) or in the Spring (January).
  • A list of extracurricular activities and/or jobs that you anticipate may require your regular attendance during your senior year.
Optionally, you will also have the opportunity to provide your responses to the following questions. Your answers will not affect your eligibility, but they may be helpful in pairing you with an employer that's right for you.
  1. What do you hope to gain from your participation in a Birmingham Promise internship? (500 words max)
  2. Tell us about a time that you overcame an obstacle to achieve a goal. What was the situation and what was the outcome? (500 words max)

    Applications will be reviewed by a Birmingham Promise Staff member.  Applications close on March 31, 2024. Please allow up to 2 weeks after the application close date to receive your application status. Please ensure your contact information is accurate to ensure you receive this feedback in a timely manner as this feedback may affect your acceptance into the program.
